An Original WW1 WW2 British Army Enfield Armourer's Brass S.M.L.E. & No 4 Rifle Bore Viewer.
This is a very nice condition, complete, undamaged brass bore viewer.
The mirror is bright and undamaged.
The chain is in complete and in undamged condition.
It is nicely marked with a Stamp on the hinge "E.F.D." and afurther stamp on the hinge of "G"
It has the War Office stamp'Crows Foot' on the loop handle as can be seen in the photographs.
This item was used to enable the Sergeant or officer to look up the bore of a rifle without having to take it from the hands of a soldier. The "notch" is where the mirror is set to 45 degrees to the bore line. The handle is hinged to allow convenient holding. The cap to protect mirror and tube is chain retained.
