See the images. I recently acquired a nice collection of World War I unit histories that I'll be listing on the week. This sale is for a book titled "THE GIANTS ON THE MARNE, A STORY OF MCALEXANDER AND HIS REGIMENT".
Dornbusch #1987, Controvich #4075. Written by Major J.W. Wooldridge (who received the DSC, DSM, CdG, Italian War Cross, etc.). Printed by the Seagull Press, Salt Lake City, Utah, 1923. Size 6 1/4" x 9 1/4", 120 pages. Contents include a detailed narrative of the 38th Infantry's experiences during the war with the 3rd Division, a biography of General Ulysses Grant McAlexander, numerous photographs, illustrations and maps, copies of general orders, unit citations and commendations, bios of heroes, etc.
Condition VG with warped (bowed a bit) cover as pictured above, some edge,corner and spine wear, inside generally clean with bright pages, a few with light age toning to edges, cover page with small stain and inside opposite back cover with small tear at outside edge. Scarce and interesting title.
