See the images. I recently acquired a nice collection of World War I unit histories that I'll be listing on the week. This sale is for a book titled "SUICIDE BATTALIONS".
Written by Capt. Wendall Westover, 4th Machine Gun Battalion, 2nd Infantry Division, Controvich #4856, Dornbusch #2359, printed by the Knickerbocker Press, New York 1929, stated 1st edition. Size 7 1/4" x 9 1/2", 278 pages. A lengthy personal memoir of the Captain, with 44 beautiful illustrations by Lucien Jonas, official French War Artist, color fold-out map of the western front at back.
Condition very good with some very light wear and very minor spot discoloration to cover. Inside generally clean with some light foxing, all pages tight and holding well, fold-out map with corner creases. I note an unsigned copy of this in poor condition offered today on the internet at $54.95, plus $6.00 postage.
