Nice ww1/ww2 Glengarry to the 48th Highlanders of Canada:
$281
For your consideration a very nice WW1/WW2 Gelengarry to the 48th Highlanders of Canada with leather trim. The glen is in good condition with a satin cloth liner with a minor repair on the blind side. There is a red piece of cloth behind the badge (see pic). This is a curious example according to a knowledgeable collector here in Holland the glen is first world war but apparantly used in 1945 when it was probably given as souvenir to a local after the liberation of The Hague. I added one pic of the 48th pipers when performing in The Hague in may 1945.
Thisglengarry was part of the collection of the Haags Historisch Museum. After the exhibition "40 jaar bevrijd" in 1985, the majority of the artifactsfrom this exhibition was saleed off at Van Stockum saleeers (The Hague) sometime in 1987 or 1988. The majority of these items were left behind after the 1st Canadian Infantry Division liberated The Hague in may 1945. Majority of the troops stayedin The Hague and vicinityfor two months disarming German troops and awaiting repatriation. No quibble money back guarantee if you are not satisfied, however the shipping for return is yours..
