Clapsaddle Flag 4th of July REPRO CARD Of Thee I Sing
This modern greeting card is a reproduction of an
image from a vintage
postcard by artist Ellen H. Clapsaddle. In it we can see an American flag entwined with a wreath of flower blossoms, perhaps from a cherry or apple tree? The caption is the words of the song, "My Country, 'Tis of Thee", also known as "America", which is an American patriotic song, whose lyrics were written by Samuel Francis Smith. The melody is that of the United Kingdom's national anthem, "God Save the Queen", although Smith encountered it by way of a German adaptation. The song served as a de facto national anthem of the United States before the adoption of "The Star-Spangled Banner" as the official anthem.
Our cards are all glossy 5" x 7" inches, gatefolds (unfolded they measure 7" x
10") printed on heavy weight, 11ml cover cardstock, blank inside. The image will have a colored border applied, centered in the card, with a white border around it. Each card comes with an envelope. We make our cards from
vintage images from our personal collection (we've been collecting
ephemera for over 40 years.) We scan the originals, and then clean and
repair the damage that time has done to the original using Photoshop. We
then print them using a high resolution printer at 600 DPI. The
resulting card is deeply saturated, and guaranteed to please.
